Overview
The IEEE SB Volunteer & Event Management System is a unified platform for IEEE Student Branches to coordinate volunteers, run events, and manage committee operations from one place — instead of scattering registrations, rosters, and communications across spreadsheets, forms, and group chats.
Built from lessons learned shipping event infrastructure for initiatives like MazeX, the system targets the recurring needs of student-run IEEE chapters: volunteer onboarding, event lifecycle management, and the operational tooling committees need every semester.
The Problem
IEEE Student Branches run dozens of events per year with rotating volunteer teams. Organizers lose time reconciling sign-up forms, tracking who showed up, assigning roles, sending updates, and keeping sponsor and delegate materials in sync. Generic tools weren't designed for how student branches actually operate.
Planned Features
- ▸Volunteer management — Rosters, role assignments, availability, and committee structure in one system
- ▸Event operations — Create, schedule, and publish events with registration and resource workflows
- ▸Registration & forms — Configurable sign-up flows for workshops, competitions, and branch activities
- ▸Communications — Mailing lists and campaign infrastructure for volunteer and participant outreach
- ▸Content & resources — Manage delegate materials, schedules, and branch-facing assets without redeploying code
- ▸Organizer dashboard — Analytics and operational visibility for branch leadership
